Netflix is always a great option when you’re in the mood for a movie, thanks to its impressive collection of movies and shows. Still, what happens when you really want to bring back the good ol’ times and enjoy some classic Disney movies? Or you want to show your kids what real cartoons looked like, that is?
Netflix’s offer just got better!
According to Mashable, the streaming company recently updated its movie library, just in time for summer, but also announced that starting with September, it start showing some exclusive titles from major production studios.
“From September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive U.S. pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s head of content, said.
The exact titles weren’t announced, but considering that Disney‘s has one a vast library, the number of additions will definitely be big.
“Many of our long time U.S. members might recognize that summer is a time when we refresh a large part of our film catalogue,” Sarandos said, citing a 20% increase in movie watching by Netflix and other platforms in the United States, around Memorial Day Weekend.
More and more exclusive titles, coming right up
“This year is no exception, but there is one difference; a batch of non-exclusive titles are leaving while what is arriving is exclusive to Netflix among streaming subscription video services,” he added.
Finally, Netflix updating its library with Disney movies and more shouldn’t come as a surprise, after two of its main competitors, Hulu and Amazon, did the same thing recently.
