‘Ultimate Beastmaster’ to land soon on Netflix

Netflix is looking forward to expanding their portfolio in the near future, by launching another original production. Still, this one is going to be different than anything they’ve launched until date, being their first attempt at making a reality competition.

Ultimate Beastmaster‘ will be a global action series, where competitors will try to finish an highly demanding obstacle course, but the main attraction will be Sylvester Stallone, one of the presenters and producers.

Another Netflix Original success?

“The invitation to partner with Netflix and mega-producer Dave Broome on this revolutionary concept was an opportunity I couldn’t resist,” said Sylvester Stallone. “The world will watch in awe as amazing competitors from around the globe overcome grueling physical challenges – and in the process become champions and heroes. The course is unequaled in its daring creation and I am excited to be a part of it.”

The show is basically an international competition, with six local versions, featuring local languages, competitors and hosts from each country that’s taking part, says Deadline.com. To be more specific, we’re talking about the United States, Brazil, South Korean, Mexico, Germany and Japan.

Ultimate Beastmaster‘ will gather 108 competitors, 18 from each of the participating countries, and it will be split in 10 episodes, each of them being one hour long.  Every episode will feature 12 competitors, two from every country, trying to deal with “The Beast”, a demanding obstacle course.

Each episode will crown a ‘Beastmaster’, while the last one, the nine winners will compete in the big final, for the ‘Ultimate Beastmaster‘ title.

Big production, big expectations!

“As a global internet TV network, Netflix can uniquely create a compelling event that pits great competitors from six countries against one another, with commentators that audiences from these countries love and then unleash all of the episodes, at once, in multiple languages for our members to enjoy no matter where they are,” said Erik Barmack, VP, International Originals.
